DJ profile:
From the man who mixed the inaugural volume of the seminal ‘Journeys By DJs’ series, we still find Mr. Nasty at the helm, box of records at his feet, doing what he has done best for the last quarter of a century.

But Billy Nasty has never been just a DJ, he has enjoyed an extensive recording career and runs two record labels highly-regarded by a broad range of DJs and record buyers alike. With a career spanning 25 years, Billy continues to travel the world as one of the most in-demand DJs, lighting up dancefloors at some of the most prestigious events and infamous clubs across the globe.

From early beginnings playing rare groove and funk to his first forays into acid house during his residency at London’s The Brain Club, to regular slots at seminal London clubs such as Final Frontier, Open All Hours, The Drum Club and Strutt, he’s played pretty much every festival and club worth mentioning ever since, from Tribal Gathering to Atomic Jam and Awakenings. His Open to Torture residency at The End ran for five years and was widely regarded as one of the best techno nights in the UK. Billy continues to DJ the world over, taking his unique blend of techno-trance to dancefloors everywhere including Fabric in London, Motion in Bristol, and Tresor in Germany. His 90’s mix tapes were legendary and shared by friends across the country, who flocked to see him DJ with his unique style of percussive, energetic trance and techno.

On top of his DJing, Billy has also maintained a strong production presence over the years. Earlier more progressive outings included Shi-Take and Vinyl Blair (with Chemical Brothers engineer Steve Dub) to his studio collaborations with Gregor Tresher and Anthony Rother on Datapunk, culminating in his current partnership with Keith Tenniswood (aka Radioactive Man) as RadioNasty.

The South West has enjoyed many of his nights over the years, including sets in Bristol (Lakota, Trinity), Exeter (The Cavern), Plymouth (Dance Academy, The Candy Store), Torquay (Claire’s, The Attic), and of course those legendary nights in the middle of nowhere at Verbeer Manor.

This night is a celebration of some of the finest techno and trance of the last 25 years, with Billy playing a mix of classic and newer tracks, including some that featured on his mix tapes, Radio 1 Essential mixes, and his commercial mix CD’s. Whether you’ve been a fan since the 90’s or never seen him before, it’s a chance to see one of the finest DJ’s of the last 25 years take the roof off like no one else can.

This event is also raising funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, who will receive all proceeds from the ticket sales.

Join us for what is going to be a very special night.
